Cuisinart Launches A Charitable 2005 Culinary Calendar
Cuisinart Launches A Culinary Calendar to Raise funds for Food Banks in Canada.
Brampton, ON - October 2004 - According to the Canadian Association of Food Banks (CAFB), some 800,000 Canadians depend on food banks every month for emergency food supplies.
Understanding the importance of proper nutrition, Cuisinart has selected the Canadian Association of Food Banks as the recipient of the funds raised from the first annual Cuisinart Culinary Calendar.
The Cuisinart Culinary Calendar was designed to help raise funds for different Canadian charities in need of financial assistance. “It is our way of giving back to the Canadian community that has supported us for over 30 years,” says Beverley Melnick, Director of Marketing for Cuisinart Canada.
Every cent raised through the generous monthly sponsors went directly to helping in the fight against hunger. These sponsors included Gourmet du Village, RobinHood Multifoods, Renée’s Gourmet Dressings, Ontario Sheep Marketing Agency, Wildly Delicious Fine Foods, AIR MILES, and George Brown College.
Also, many Cuisinart retailers also supported this cause by participating in the Retailer Listing, such as Bella Vita Home Essentials, The Gourmet Warehouse, Bucovetsky’s, Cayne’s Super Houseware Store, Le Chef Complet, Tweed & Hickory, Cuisine Actuelle, Dante Inc., Pom Pom Inc., AIR MILES Reward Program, Home Hardware Stores and Linens `N Things.
"The Canadian Association of Food Banks and its members are very grateful to Cuisinart for the initiative to create this wonderful culinary calendar. On behalf of the people we serve, we thank the generous sponsors who stepped up to join us to help feed Canada's hungry," says Charles Seiden, Executive Director of the CAFB.
“We are very pleased to have such supportive retailers and contacts in the industry,” says Melnick, “we could never have produced such an amazing calendar without their support.”
The first annual Cuisinart Culinary Calendar will be distributed to over 25,000 Canadians, offering them delicious recipes that can be used for casual entertaining or even a quiet meal at home. Each of these 12 mouthwatering recipes is accompanied with a large beautiful image.
The calendar features recipes such as Mussels and Leeks with Creamy Pesto Sauce, Cape Breton Malt Whiskey Coffee, Pull Apart Cheese Twists and Lemon Rosemary Roast Chicken with Lemongrass Mustard Vinaigrette.
Availability: Mid-October 2004
